OVERVIEW:On February 16th, 2022 Kenny and Ryan were invited to hang out with TreyZoeller and select some barrels from the rare single barrel program. This was our first ever Jefferson's selection and we couldn't have been happier to have been there.We ended up with 2 barrels aged roughly 9 years and then each went through a secondary finishing step for an additional 4-5 months. The first barrel, Twin Oak, spent 5 months in a barrel where the staves had grooves carved in, which ultimately increased the surface area, exposing the bourbon to more toasty sweet oak. The second barrel spent a similar amount of time in a barrel that originally held bourbon for 4 years, then was used to hold rum for 11 years, and finally kissed our Jefferson's barrel with its rum goodness. We think you'll enjoy "JERSEY SHORE" & "RUM HAM".BARREL DETAILS:Sticker Theme - "RUM HAM", Barrel #20, Aged 9 years, Finished4 months in a former 4-year bourbon/11-year rum cask. 90.2 Proof, 45.1% ABVTASTING NOTES:byBrian BeykeNose: Big buttery profile with caramelized sugars (think creme brlée or brléed banana), sweetly baked banana bread, dried coconut, and softly fresh wood.Palate: sweet buttercream, cereal marshmallows, and a pinch of salt before a short, spiced finish. The rum finish tames the flavors of the whiskey at this proof, but without it getting as overly sweet as the high-end, or higher-proof rums can be.Finish: the finish is syrupy, spiced, and medium, trailing soft with freshly cut wood.
