Detail
Overview:Great wine starts with quality, well-tended grapes. As each Tin Barn wine is sourced from a single Sonoma County vineyard, they spend considerable energy selecting prime Sonoma County sites. They have forged long term relationships with growers to ensure the consistency and quality of the grapes. This includes such vineyard sites as the Hi Vista, Ricci, Gilson, Los Chazimal, Coryelle Fields, and Pickberry. On the eastern edge of the Russian River Valley lies a stretch of sandy loam soil, which was planted with Zinfandel (St. George rootstock) back in 1950. This well-established site exposes our fruit to a cool morning fog that slows its ripening and concentrates its flavors. Since 2000, wine maker Michael Lancaster has worked with this vineyard to make Zinfandel. Consistent with previous vintages, our Zinfandel displays a deep garnet color, lush velvety mouthfeel, and long seductive finish.Tasting Notes:Consistent with previous vintages, our Gilsson Vineyard Zinfandel displays a deep garnet color, lush velvety mouthfeel, and long seductive finish.Pairing:Beef and venisonPoints:88, Wine EnthusiastFormat/ABV: 750 ml/15.5%In certain circumstances, a specific vintage may not be available.
