Midleton Irish whisky is produced by Irish Distillers in the East Cork town of Midleton. This very rare vintage release from 2021 was chosen from the most exceptional quality single pot still and single grain Irish whiskeys from the past four years and aged from 13 to 35 years in lightly charred ex-bourbon American oak barrels. On the nose is citrus with a hint of vanilla and unripe banana, with herbal notes leading into the palate with red apple, cinnamon, clove, and ginger. A touch of cedarwood and charred American oak add to the complexity with a smooth mouthfeel and an extra long finish highlighted by barley. This very rare Irish whiskey is hard to come by, and a classy addition to any serious collector.
