Overview: Alexander Valley is well-known for producing outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon in SonomaCounty. Grapes for Rock Carved are harvested from two vineyards. One is planted on theRussian River’s edge in the middle of the valley floor, in well-drained alluvial gravel soils.Heat combined with perfect growing conditions provide a rich, round and lushly texturedCabernet. The second vineyard is planted in the southernmost part of the valley on thebenchlands overlooking Alexander Valley. Here the soils are richer yet rockier. Wines fromthis vineyard are harvested later at lower brix and provides concentration and complexity.Together you have the best of both.Tasting Notes: Mocha coffee fills the mouth, allowing in a rush of blackberry and plum.
