White Oak Akashi 5 Year Single Malt Sherry Cask comes from one of Japan's oldest distilleries, located in Hyogo, just west of Kobe. Sherry cask aging for a generous 5 years produced a whisky with an excellent burst of sherry sweetness. The aroma is smoky spice and ripe red fruit. The palate is rich and holds notes of earthy oak, black tea, and plums, while the finish leaves you with a taste reminscent of baking spice and cocoa.
