Tequila Ocho 8/8/8 Extra Anejo is a limited edition creation from both Carlos Camarena and Tomas Estes, with just 1000 bottles available in the US. Aged for 8 years and 8 months in bourbon barrels, this Extra Anejo is sourced from a single vintage from when Tequila Ocho was first launched in the on US 8/8/2008. The palate is full of rich agave flavor and oak with hints of citrus, mint, and baking spice behind it. Ocho Tequila is one of the first to designate both the year it was produced as well as which field the agave used was harvested from, much like what is done for fine wines. Each estate produced a limited amount of agave making each vintage of Ocho both rare and collectible. You may ask why is there a focus on the number eight. Tequila Ocho gets its name from several facts about tequila. For example, it takes an average of eight years for agave to mature and ripen before harvesting and it takes 8 kilograms of agave to make one liter of Ocho Tequila. Carlos Camarena himself also has eight brothers and sisters!
