The Codigo extra anejo is the first ultra premium tequila to hit the market in years that actually delivers stunning quality for the luxury price. Matured for six years in French oak ex-wine casks, the spirit has truly concentrated itself and the wine element at this point tastes like something between a port-finished bourbon and wine-finished Bruichladdich, but with spicy and sweet agave notes on the finish.
