The Last Drop 1976 Very Old Jamaican Rum is a super-limited release of one of The Last Drop's finest rums, one that matured in the tropical heat of Jamaica and the salty sea air of Liverpool. Pure sugar cane was distilled in 1976 and set to rest in ex-bourbon barrels in its homeland of Jamaica, slowing infusing with rich tropical flavor. After a number of years in Jamaica, this spirit was shipped to Liverpool to mature in the cool sea breeze. Beautifully amber in color, the legs of this rum are supremely satisfying and rich. The aroma is ripe tropical fruit and spice, with a touch of smoke. The palate is initially sweet, with a marmalade character that transforms to burnt caramel, light tobacco, and sweet ginger and nutmeg.
