This lovely '17 Bourgogne Le Chapitre puts its succulent red fruits front and center in a plush yet vibrant profile that dances with lilac petals, fresh loam, and touches of spice, orange zest, and crushed river rocks. Dusty tannins and a nicely acidic spine offset the lushness of the wine's fruits, and savory minerals and tart berries linger on the food-friendly, delicious finish. While you can enjoy this exceptionally detailed wine right away, it'll drink beautifully over the medium term. Deriving from a vineyard with very old vines (about two-thirds planted in 1963), destemmed grapes ferment in either stainless steel or open top wooden vats for about a month, and the wine ages for eighteen months in barriques, one-third new.
