Detail
Overview: Dry Creek Valley is the preeminent source for Zinfandel in Sonoma County. It’s a 16-mile, narrow valley just inland from the California coast to which it runs parallel. Days are baking hot and protected from the cool winds off the Pacific Ocean which is relatively close. Nights are cool. Grapes are harvested from 100-year-old vines at the northern most end of the valley. The base of Lake Sonoma is the hottest part of the valley, perfect for beautifully ripened Zinfandel. Head-trained with 8 spurs, these own rooted old, gnarled vines are naturally low yielding, planted directly into sand-soils and make wine of amazing concentration.Tasting Notes:Intense flavors of black cherry, black currant, cinnamon and baking spice with a rich, ripe palate.Pairing:Pairs well with lamb.Points:Format/ABV: 750 ml/14.5%In certain circumstances, a specific vintage may not be available. If this is the case, a comparable vintage of the same wine will be substituted for online orders. If shopping in-store, please check the bottle for the appropriate vintage.
