On the palate there is a surprising initial hint of fruity pot still funk, enveloped by dark chocolate and hazelnut. Incredibly full bodied, the 43% drinks like something decidedly more concentrated. The time in oak has developed a punchy spice element alongside the expected vanilla, complementing the continuing nutty chocolate flavors. The finish is long and round with a twinge of bitter coffee.
