John J Bowman Single Barrel Virginia Straight Bourbon is a tribute to Abram S. Bowman's great, great uncle and an ongoing release from the esteemed Sazerac family of brands. A premium-sourced whiskey without an age statement, this bourbon is aged for a minimum of 9 years in new charred oak barrels to a finished barrel strength of 100 proof. The mash bill is undisclosed, but it is estimated to contain at least 50% corn and is triple-distilled, likely twice by Buffalo Trace and at least once by Smith Bowman. In 2017, this superb quaff won the highly coveted World's Best Bourbon award, and it boasts a nose of sweet caramel and spice, followed by a palate of oak, vanilla, and herbs.
