Detail
Hayman's London Dry is a double gold award winning gin distilled to a family recipe of 10 botanicals. With unmistakeably classic flavours, it is a perfect partner with tonic and a wedge of lime as well as in some of our favourite gin cocktails. We steep the botanicals in grain alcohol for a full day prior to distillation which allows the oils and essences from the botanicals to impart in to the alcohol. We carefully ensure that there is a consistent balance of juniper, coriander, lemon and orange peel which is vital in creating this traditional style. Orris root, cinnamon, cassia bark and nutmeg give the dry characteristics and add to the depth of flavour. The Hayman family is the oldest gin-producing family in London, dating to 1863. Hayman's is the only traditional London gin producer whose flagship, traditional London Dry Gin has its primary emphasis on citrus, while still maintaining the high proof and spicy midpalate of classic Dry Gin. The defining characteristics of Hayman's Gin include: use of three small copper-pot stills; 24-hour maceration of botanicals, for extra concentration; and the use of 10 classic botanicals. Since 1863 five generations of our family have acted as custodians of the True English Gin style providing an unbroken lineage dating back to the original gin boom. Throughout this 150 years, we have been proud to distill True English Gins, using family techniques and processes handed down through the generations.Today, in an era where most gin producers have focused on what's new, our family remain committed to championing the True English Gin style first developed by our 19th Century forebears protecting the classically balanced styles that lie at the heart of most classic gin cocktails. Unlike other gin available today, our full range of True English Gins are distilled just as they would have been over 150 years ago benefiting from the authentic period recipes and traditional two-day process that lie at the heart of creating the famously balanced English Gin style.
