Great length of flavor.Producer InformationTolpuddle Vineyard is an Australian wine producer, located in the cool-climate wine region of Tasmania. It produces premium quality, single vineyard wines from the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grape varieties. The wine portfolio is a small collection, purely composed of the two aforementioned wine grape. In the winery, traditional, low-intervention practices are utilized, but Tolpuddle believes that premium-quality wine is made in the vineyard and therefore, the primary focus for the company is the viticultural practices. Tolpuddle Vineyard was planted in 1988. The Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines have a favorable north-east aspect that maximises sunshine hours to encourage grapes to ripen to their full potential. The light silica and sandstone soil type lightly stresses the vines to ensure moderate vigor creating grapes with concentrated flavor compounds. The Tolpuddle name is derived from the Tolpuddle Martyrs who were English convicts. They were sent to Tasmania in 1834 as punishment for forming an agricultural union.
