It is named after the Babylonian Goddess Siduri - a female divinity associated with fermentation, in particular of wine and beer. The winery was founded by Texans Adam Lee and Dianna Novy. After several years of working in small, family-owned wineries in California, the pair released the estate's first wine in 1994. Today, Siduri partners with twenty different vineyards that it has long term relationships with, making a range of varietal single-vineyard wines. Pinot Noir grapes are sourced from some of the West Coast's most well-known AVAs, including Sonoma County, Russian River Valley, Sonoma Coast, Santa Lucia Highlands and Santa Rita Hills. In 2019, the Siduri portfolio included a Chardonnnay sourced from the Willamette Valley in Oregon. In the winery, vineyard blocks and clones are vinified separately in order to maintain control of blending and emphasize the specific nuances of each terroir. Wines are primarily bottled unfiltered and unfined with the principle of minimal intervention applied throughout the entire winemaking process. Siduri Winery has been under the ownership of Jackson Family Wines since 2012.
