Curt Mast created the recipe for a herbal liqueur, which he called "Jgermeister". Curt was the son of Wilhelm Mast, a vinegar manufacturer in Wolfenbüttel, Germany. It was Curt who took the family vinegar business in a different direction and created Jgermeister which was first introduced in 1935.
